PALACE BASSI (BASSI - RAJASTHAN)
The fort of Bassi which includes the palace was built in the 16th century by
Thakur Jaimal. The palace is in the mewar region of Rajasthan, which is the
oldest region of Rajasthan's ancient dynasties about 1400 years ago. The
region's origin is traced to legendary times to Luv the son of Lord Rama. The
fort as such is strategically located on the Mughal route of invasion of Mewar.
Being in the battle front line, it faced a number of invasions by the Mughals
and the Marathas.
