Jodhpur was founded in
1459 by Rao Jodha and is one of the three important points of the
famous desert triangle of indian-tourism. Today it is one of the
leading centers for wood, cattle, camels, salt and agricultural
crops. It is also known for its leather work, spices, jutis (light
and brightly decorated camel skin sandals) and mawa kachoris (sweet
filled with a thickened milk ). Places of interest accessible from
Jodhpur are Meharangarh fort,Jaswant thada, Girdikot, Mandore and
Kailana lake.
