Kishangarh is named as much after Krishna as
its founder,Kishan Singh, who claimed his right to the kingdom in
1611.One of the greatest patrons of art , Raja Satwant Singh, based
a portrait of Krishna's consort, Radha, on his own mistress, Bani
thani. One of the finest schools of painting developed here,known as
Kishangarh School of Painting,under the royal patronage of Raja
Sawant Singh(Known as nagridas by his penname). |
