GOLDEN CASTLE RESORT (PACHAR - RAJASTHAN)
The fort of Paccar was built in the 18th century and the adjoining
Golden castle resort is a later addition. Originally a court, it was given
Its present shape by successive Thakurs of Paccar. The descendants of Guman
Singh have now opened their castle for tourists. This building resembles
a European country mansion and has spacious lawns and swimming pool. The
Castle has interesting chambers like Diwane-Khas (dining hall) and the
Rang Mahal (lobby) with its collection of old family portraits, paintings
and arched doorways. The bedrooms are large and have a traditional style
of decor. Boating and angling in the Ganpat lake, bird watching during
winter, excursions to the temple of Khatu Shamji and nearby villages of
Shekawati for local crafts, folk dances, camel and jeep safaris can be arranged.
